Works-for-me-Wednesday - Toddler painting
Little Alisa always wants to participate in "big-girl" activities. Thus, if her older sister is painting, she wants to paint too. However, Alisa gets paint everywhere! So, I decided to give her a cup of water, a large sheet of paper, and several paintbrushes. It turns out that she loved watching her paint (water) strokes on the paper and it solved my mess problem. She also likes to paint on the chalk board. It works too because of the chalk dust and makes quite a nice backdrop for her adorable artwork.

Thanks for the reminder! I used to do this with my son--I used construction paper as the water turned dark on the colored background. Great project for those days when I don't want the cleanup of a messy craft!

Alexis is older, but she just did this outside today with a bucket of water, a paintbrush and a sponge. She still has fun doing it!

What a great idea for her to be able to join in without creating a mess! :)
